Floor leveling compound is any mix used to fill low areas and imperfections or add as a topcoat to existing floors. Concrete floors can develop problems over time. They can settle unevenly, causing a noticeable dip in the surface, they can develop cracks that can trip you when walking across the floor and the surface can be degraded by exposure to excess moisture.
Moisture barriers or moisture vapor mitigation refers to water problems that seep through the concrete floors. A moisture vapor system helps create a barrier for concrete slabs to keep your floors safe and dry. Industry requirements today have determined that you need a 75% relative humidity result (or less) as an acceptable range for all floor products. There are a number of tests that you can do to to establish moisture content and moisture vapor transmission.
